Job summary

Job Summary:

Sapphire Shores Health and Rehab, a leading healthcare provider in Florida, is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, monitoring, and directing the functions of the nursing department. Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Nursing with management duties, including hiring, training, and developing department staff.


• Ensure compliance with company, federal, state, and local standards, and regulations.


• Develop and implement a facility wide infection control and prevention program.


• Oversee the facility's antibiotic/antimicrobial stewardship program.


• Monitor resident care activities that increase risk of infection.


• Lead the facility's Infection and Prevention Control Committee.


• Develop and implement action plans to address opportunities for improvement.


• Implement an annual infection control risk assessment process and participate in the facility's annual facility assessment review process.


• Review and update facility policies and procedures annually and as needed.


• Provide education related to infection prevention and control principles, policies, and procedures to staff, residents, and families.


• Ensure public health is notified of reportable diseases.


• Collaborate with other departments in fulfilling requirements related to occupational health and safety.


• Maintain documentation of infection prevention and control program activities.


• Develop, coordinate, and implement facility wide education, development programs and initiatives.


• Work cooperatively with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, and other facility leadership to assess educational needs and plan programs to meet these needs.


• Perform/facilitate an annual facility wide education needs assessment.


• Ensure all employees complete hours of required training during the required time period.


• Conduct new hire and annual orientation programs.


• Conduct competency skills review on hire and annually for all applicable personnel.


• Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility's QAA and QA/PI committee related to Infection Control and Prevention, and education and development needs and activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.


• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.


• Strong communication and leadership skills.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.


• Strong understanding of infection control and prevention principles.
