Qualifications

• Skilled in emergency procedures including airway management, first aid, CPR/BLS, and ventilator management.
• Familiar with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation.
• Ability to perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, injections, catheter care, and sterile technique.
• Knowledge of long-term care, hospice care principles, pain management, and infection control.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team at Sapphire Shores Health and Rehab in Sarasota, FL. Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assessments, vital signs, and medication administration, ensuring safety and comfort
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs
• Administer treatments such as IV infusions, catheterizations, tube feedings, and wound care while adhering to aseptic techniques and sterile processing protocols
• Document medical records accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, maintaining compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies
• Monitor patients' physiological status, perform physical examinations, and evaluate responses to treatments for effective clinical decision-making
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection/processing, and radiology procedures when necessary
• Educate patients and their families on health management, medication instructions, and discharge planning to promote optimal recovery and well-being

Requirements

• Proven experience working with diverse populations, including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring dementia or memory care
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding (ICD-9/10)
• Competency in critical care areas such as ICU or trauma center environments; experience with Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable
• Skilled in emergency medicine procedures, including airway management, first aid, CPR (Basic Life Support), and ventilator management
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems; proficiency in medical documentation and medical records management
• Ability to perform complex nursing tasks, such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, injection administration, catheter care, and sterile technique
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations, hospice care principles, pain management strategies, and infection control practices

Background Screening Requirement

This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background screening.
