Assistant Director of Nurses/Staff Development Coordinator

Overview

We are hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Staff Development Coordinator (SDC). This role is ideal for individuals seeking career growth in nursing within a supportive organization. The ADON/SDC will assist the Director of Nursing Services in managing the Nursing Services Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards governing long-term care facilities, under the guidance of the Administrator.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop, maintain, and update nursing policies, procedures, and reference materials.
  2. Provide orientation, mandatory in-services, continuing education, and other training to meet departmental and regulatory requirements.
  3. Coordinate nursing services with other resident services.
  4. Ensure nursing staff perform their duties effectively.
  5. Participate in surveys and inspections; implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing, licensed by the state.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and educational skills.
  • Experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals or long-term care facilities; long-term care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, and regulations pertaining to long-term care.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Basic computer skills, including email usage.
