TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm seeks an Assistant Director of Food & Beverage to lead daily dining, banquet, member events and on-course outlets, ensuring sales, profitability, and member satisfaction.

Working with the Food & Beverage Director and culinary leadership, you will supervise staff, train teams, uphold service standards, and manage reservations, events, and budgets. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong presence during service and a focus on guest relations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality management preferred.
• Approximately five years of progressively responsible food and beverage experience, including supervision.
• Experience with private clubs or luxury hotels preferred.
• Knowledge of dining, banquet service, beverage operations, and service outlets coordination.
• Budgeting, labor management, inventory controls, purchasing, and general business administration practices.
• Sanitation standards, food safety, and alcohol service requirements.

Responsabilités

• Assist F&B Director with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
• Supervise daily service across dining, banquet, member events and on-course operations.
• Maintain visible floor presence during service, engage with members and guests, anticipate needs.
• Conduct daily pre-shift meetings covering reservations, events, menu offerings, and priorities.
• Manage dining room reservations and seating flow with culinary teams for timely service.
• Resolve member and guest concerns and communicate feedback to the F&B Director.
• Develop and maintain staff training programs covering service standards and knowledge.
• Coach employees, recognize performance, and address concerns with leadership.
• Ensure compliance with uniform, grooming, and conduct standards.
• Coordinate with Executive Chef and events team for menus, dietary requests, and timelines.
• Review Banquet Event Orders and oversee setup, service, and resets.
• Support member events, wine dinners, tastings, and promotions to meet revenue goals.
• Ensure dining and banquet spaces are clean, stocked, and ready for service.
• Monitor equipment and facilities, report maintenance needs, and enforce proper use.
• Coordinate purchasing, receiving, inventory counts, and waste reduction.
• Troubleshoot operational issues with staff, menus, and POS systems.
• Prepare employee schedules and adjust coverage for forecasted levels.
• Monitor timekeeping and payroll processing; manage overtime within guidelines.
• Assist in annual operating budget development and profitability monitoring.
• Ensure cash handling and tax processes follow procedures.
• Verify prices, taxes, service charges, and account postings.
• Review daily sales and resolve discrepancies with the F&B Director.
• Open/close facilities per procedures and communicate professionally with members and vendors.
• Enforce responsible alcohol service and intervention when needed.
• Maintain compliance with safety, sanitation, and alcohol service requirements.
• Operate within PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties guidelines and F&B standards.
• Lead department in the F&B Director’s absence.
