Job summary

Hyatt Centric Park City is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering to lead the hotel’s engineering team and oversee HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems. You will manage daily operations, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs to ensure safe and reliable hotel performance.

You will support OSHA and local safety compliance, assist capital projects, and help with equipment replacement planning while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of engineering management experience, preferably in a luxury hotel.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or bachelor's preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems.
• Experience with hotel building systems, soldering, and brazing preferred.
• Universal Refrigeration Certification and CPO certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hotel's interior, exterior, and building systems including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical.
• Lead the Engineering team, manage daily operations and maintenance activities.
• Direct preventive maintenance and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Ensure OSHA, fire, environmental and local safety compliance; support capital projects.
• Assist with equipment replacement planning and maintain preventive maintenance records.
• Coordinate with hotel departments and train/mentor team members.

The Assistant Director of Engineering oversees the hotel's interior, exterior, and building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical. This role leads the Engineering team, manages daily operations, and directs routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable hotel operations.

The Assistant Director of Engineering also manages preventive maintenance records. This position assists with compliance with OSHA, fire, environmental, and local safety regulations; supports capital projects and equipment replacement planning; and responds to emergencies as needed.

• Fluent English communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus
• Ability to work on-call, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with hotel departments
• Ability to lift, climb, stand, walk, and work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions
