Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking a Chief Engineer for a luxury hotel property. The role oversees the hotel’s interior, exterior, and building systems, leading the Engineering team, managing daily operations and maintenance to ensure safe, efficient hotel performance.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in engineering management, knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems, and may hold certifications like Universal Refrigeration and CPO.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of engineering management experience in a luxury hotel preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Experience with hotel building systems; soldering and brazing preferred.
• Universal Refrigeration Certification and CPO certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hotel interior, exterior, and building systems (HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical).
• Lead Engineering team, manage daily operations and maintenance activities.
• Direct routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Maintain preventive maintenance records and support OSHA/fire/environmental compliance.
• Assist with capital projects and equipment replacement planning; respond to emergencies.

The Chief Engineer oversees the hotel’s interior, exterior, and building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical. This role leads the Engineering team, manages daily operations, and directs routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable hotel operations.

The Chief Engineer also manages preventive maintenance records. This position assists with compliance with OSHA, fire, environmental, and local safety regulations; supports capital projects and equipment replacement planning; and responds to emergencies as needed.
