Job summary

Justice Resource Institute Inc. is seeking an Assistant Director of Education for Littleton Academy, a residential program for latency-aged students. You will lead education supervision, curriculum planning, and trauma-informed care in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Special Education Administrator certification or actively pursuing one.
• M.Ed in SPED Admin or equivalent.
• Massachusetts DESE licensure for SPED 5-12 required.
• Minimum of 1 year supervising/administrative experience.
• At least 5 years in SPED with emotionally challenged youth.

Responsibilities

• Lead Littleton Education Department planning, supervision and curriculum development.
• Manage caseloads to help students build life skills (cooking, banking, vocational skills).
• Support students in developing self-advocacy and next steps.

Littleton Academy

Littleton is a residential treatment setting for latency-aged students that specializes in trauma informed care. Littleton provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $72,000 to $97,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

JRI Provides Training So That:

• YOU will be able to provide assistance in the hiring, supervision, team-teaching as part of supervision, evaluation and training, unit planning, curriculum planning, technology integration, IEP development, development and oversight of Littleton's Education Department will be able to develop innovative and individualized treatment plans to support our students as they work toward reaching their clinical and treatment goals.
• YOU will be able to manage a caseload of students to help them discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and more.

Requirements:

• Qualified candidates should have a Special Education Administrator certification or meet all of the following criteria:
• Special Administrator certification is preferred, but not required.
• M.ED Special Education/ SPED Administration, or currently working towards obtaining one.
• Must be licensed by the Massachusetts DESE for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a supervisor or administrator.
• At least 5 years of experience working in Special Education with young adults with emotional disabilities.
• Experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or treatment program is preferred but not required.
• Maintain a valid driver's license.
• At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students!
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.
