Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Admissions for Campus visit falls under the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. This position reports to the Director of Admissions for Campus Visit in the department of Campus Visit within Undergraduate Admissions. This role is responsible for the oversight and daily management of the 100+ tour guide and student intern program. Position includes support of the daily campus visit program through atrium support, management of all group visits, and providing regular information sessions. This position supports general admissions counselor responsibilities - limited recruitment travel if needed and application review. Position requires weekend work.

Job Duties

• Supervising the Tour Guide program -Serves as the primary supervisor to over 100 student tour guides -Maintains the tour guide schedule which includes daily tours, events, virtual programs, and special programs.
  • Conducts two annual hiring processes for new tour guides
  • Develops, plans, and executes all tour guide hiring, onboarding, training, and meetings with a focused on student development, factual information, and diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus
  • Oversees the tour guide manual
  • Regular updates, printing, and distribution
  • Manage and approve all tour guide, diversity ambassador, and intern timesheets
  • Develops, plans, and executes intern hiring and onboarding in collaboration with the Director for Campus Visit, the Assistant Director for Event Programming, and the Associate Director for Inclusive Excellence
  • Supervise and train the admission student interns
  • Collaborates with the Associate Director for Inclusive Excellence for the hiring and training of the diversity ambassador team as well as any diversity focused training for all tour guides.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Director for Event Programming for all tour guide needs and responsibilities for events.
  • Manage all tour guide related communication (i.e. tour guide email) and software (Welcome to College)
  • Assess effectiveness of tour guide hiring, onboarding, and training
• Campus Visit Support
  • Coordinates and schedules all group visits and special tour requests (i.e. new hire tours, candidate tours, Homecoming tours, etc.).
  • Conducts regular information sessions for prospective students and guests
  • Collaborates with the Director for Campus Visit to collect, review, and interpret Campus Visit data and feedback
  • Support atrium coverage to help with guest check in and tour guide management as needed
  • Completes required Saturdays sessions
  • Supports all on-campus events
  • Assist with the opening/closing of the Inman Admissions Welcome Center, front desk coverage, and managing the campus visit email as needed
  • Collaborates with the Director for Campus Visit to develop and assist with new hire training in campus visit
