Summary

The Assistant Director of Admission functions as a vital member of a high-performing enrollment management team. They are responsible for executing various recruitment activities, including travel and serving as a key connector for admitted applicants and new students each semester. Collaborating with coaches, faculty, and other departments, the Assistant Director helps recruit and support students throughout their college journey.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage recruitment territory goals from inquiry to enrollment by establishing and nurturing relationships with prospective students and families.
  2. Build and maintain a recruitment territory, including domestic travel, primarily during the fall peak season.
  3. Represent Washington & Jefferson College's values, mission, and brand.
  4. Use market data and performance metrics to develop and evaluate recruitment efforts.
  5. Conduct interviews and tours for prospective students and their families.
  6. Guide students and families through the admission process, including questions about timelines, scholarships, financial aid, and decisions.
  7. Evaluate applications and recommend admissions decisions.
  8. Attend all campus recruitment events, including evenings and weekends.
  9. Communicate with prospective students and families via various channels.
  10. Provide exceptional student-centric customer service.
  11. Maintain professional networks and organizational affiliations.
  12. Perform additional duties such as event planning, communication development, outreach, social media marketing, targeted recruitment, and special projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred, valid driver's license required. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, enthusiasm for liberal arts education, project organization abilities, IT competency, willingness to travel, and rapport-building skills.

Additional Criteria

  • On-site/flexible schedule, primarily Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Willingness to travel and work weekends/evenings as needed
  • Ability to carry recruitment materials, pass background and child abuse clearances

Supervisory Duties

No management responsibilities.
