Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing Emerging Strategies and Technology, serving under the guidance of the Chief Executive Nurse and representing the Nursing Centers of Excellence, reports to the Executive Director for Strategic Planning and Implementation. This strategic leader is responsible for positioning the organization for long‑term success by spearheading the identification, development, and implementation of forward‑thinking initiatives. The role combines industry best practices with a focus on design thinking, informatics, and cross‑functional collaboration to drive innovation, elevate clinical outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency across the health system.

Responsibilities
  • Craft and communicate a compelling vision aligned with the organization’s mission and goals, leading enterprise‑wide strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify, develop, and execute strategies that respond to evolving healthcare trends, regulatory shifts, and technological advancements (such as AI, telehealth, and predictive analytics).
  • Leverage informatics and analytics in strategy formulation, performance measurement, and evidence‑based decision‑making.
  • Facilitate and apply human‑centered design methodologies to solve complex problems, reimagine workflows, and enhance both patient and provider experiences.
  • Guide and manage organizational transformation efforts, including communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Work closely with clinical, IT, finance, and operational teams to integrate innovative solutions throughout the organization.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices, proactively recommending strategic shifts and improvements.
Minimum Requirements
  • RN and NC Licensure, Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in nursing leadership, change management, or healthcare transformation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in design thinking and informatics.
  • Proven track record of 3‑5 years’ experience in leading complex, cross‑functional projects.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
  • One of the following certifications: PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent preferred at hire, or required within one‑year of hire date.
