Serves as part of the department’s leadership team. Performs upper-level administrative duties, such as preparing and monitoring annual reports and assessment plans. Maintains current knowledge of all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and provides guidance to staff and students to ensure compliance. Participates in goal setting, performance evaluations, budget-related decisions, and long-range strategic planning for the department. Documents student learning and program evaluation, and craft the assessment plans for individual programs or services. Serves as a departmental representative in the absence of the director.

Provides personal, academic, cultural support, and assist with planning and conducting
programs, events, and conferences to multicultural students and student organizations and accompany/chaperon students on out of town leadership conferences.

Works collaboratively and serves as primary liaison between other divisions and departments (i.e., Student Leadership & Involvement, Career Services, Educational Support Services, Student Conduct, African & African American Studies) throughout campus and serve on division and university-wide committees/groups such as Cultural Programs, Student Success Teams, Title IX Programs, and Retention and Graduation Initiatives.

Leads department initiatives and programs such as Multicultural Leadership Retreat, Student Leadership Development,. Serves as primary advisor to designated Registered Student Organizations. Assist with major programming, i.e., Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, Ambassadors and Multicultural Festival. Executes contracts for artists and speakers for student programming.

Provides direct supervision of Graduation Coach, Graduate Assistant(s), student worker(s), and interns such as hiring, training, facilitating meetings/retreats, evaluation of personnel in areas of responsibility, consistent developmental feedback, coaching, and reprimanding.

Attends University sponsored recruitment events (New Student Orientation, Campus Day etc.) on and off campus. Greets and advises students and parents; conduct presentations/workshops on multicultural and education.

marketing, promotion, and branding efforts to enhance the department’s presence
across campus.
