Job summary

Partnership for After School Education (PASE) is seeking an Assistant Director to provide site-based leadership, ensure safe, high-quality programming, and support data management. The APD supervises staff, coordinates operations, and acts as Inclusion Coordinator to ensure equitable access for all participants including ELLs and those with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred, depending on teaching experience.
• Minimum of two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• Some supervisory experience in a child care program or related field of work.
• Experience in education and/or after-school programming (DYCD Compass Preferred).
• Good Computer skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support program quality and youth development through engaging, age-appropriate activities and SEL, literacy, STEM, physical activity, and leadership development.
• Review program plans, conduct observations, and provide coaching and feedback to staff for high-quality instruction and engagement.
• Assist Program Director in creating opportunities for participant leadership and feedback on their program experience.
• Assist with continuous quality improvement efforts, including corrective action plans and program enhancements.
• Provide supervision and scheduling support to frontline staff, interns, and volunteers with appropriate staffing ratios.
• Monitor attendance, enrollment, and family engagement strategies and report on participation trends.
• Ensure safety, behavior management, incident response, and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Maintain accurate program records and support data management and administrative tasks.
