Job summary

Simpson College's Department of Residence Life seeks a dynamic Assistant Director of Student Experience to oversee the Fraternity/Sorority and theme housing (about 250 residents) and supervise 6+ student staff. The AD leads FSL recruitment, staff training, and selection while developing relationships with students through leadership, programming, and counseling.

Located in Indianola, IA, Simpson College is a private four-year institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred but not required.
• Previous FSL experience required; professional FSL experience preferred
• The position is 12-month, live-on.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of Fraternity/Sorority and theme housing (~250 residents) and supervise 6+ student staff.
• Lead departmental projects such as FSL recruitment, staff training, or selection.
• Develop interpersonal relationships with students through staff leadership, programming, and counseling/advising students with individual concerns.
• Main responsibility within the FSL residential community; opportunities exist for collateral experience in the Division of Student Development.
