The position is one of three full-time staff members supporting more than 40 social Greek-letter organizations and over 3,750 affiliated students, representing approximately 16% of the undergraduate student population. The Assistant Director supports students and chapters within four governing councils: the Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and Panhellenic Council.

At the divisional and institutional levels, the Assistant Director coordinates hazing-prevention efforts, including policy development, investigative protocols, and tailored education for members of the Northeastern community.

The Assistant Director supervises, trains, and evaluates the FSL Specialist, who is responsible for chapter services, volunteer engagement, recognition requirements, and signature community-building events such as Take It to the Floor, Greek Sing, the MGC BBQ, New England Stepfest, FSL Apex Awards, and Greek Week. As a member of the collaborative CSI team, the Assistant Director also supports department-wide programs and events, including Fall Fest, Homecoming, Winter Fest, and the Student Life Awards.
