Job summary

South Shore Stars Inc is seeking an Assistant Director of Early Education Programs to oversee administrative and programmatic functions across Stars Preschool and Early Education Centers. You will collaborate with the Director, Education Coordinator, Family Services, and Center Directors to ensure compliance, curriculum implementation, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary studies in early childhood education or similar field.
• Minimum of five years’ experience teaching young children, including infants and toddlers.
• Experience administering Early Childhood programs in a large center.
• Experience with management of a team and ability to lead multiple programs in multiple communities.
• Demonstrated strong supervision skills.
• Public speaking, facilitation, communication, and team building experience.
• EEC Director 2 certification - in addition, Preschool and Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher Certification preferred.
• Must have transportation to visit centers and attend required meetings/trainings.
• Prefer applicants have experience with nonprofit agencies.
• Prefer applicants have experience working with at risk population and families involved with state agencies.
• Some evenings, weekends, and non-business hours required

Responsibilities

• Assist in curriculum implementation.
• Assist in the management of a team of Directors and associated staff.
• Collaborate with Director and Education Coordinator on training and professional development of Center Directors and Support Staff.
• Help develop and monitor program policies and procedures.
• Help facilitate annual program evaluation and development of Action Plans.
• Assist Center Directors in designing classroom environments.
• Meet with Center Directors, Support Staff, and Family Support Clinicians regarding children with emotional/behavioral needs.
• Monitor child development and ensure staff partnership with families and other providers.
• Oversee transportation and travel between Stars locations as needed.
• All other duties reasonably related to the role, or related to operations.
