Job summary

South Shore Stars is seeking a devoted preschool teacher to join our not-for-profit early education team south of Boston. Under the supervision of a Lead Teacher, you will plan activities, assess children, and contribute to a nurturing classroom environment.

This full-time role requires an AA in ECE or equivalent with 18 ECE credits, MA frameworks knowledge, and a DEEC Preschool Certification. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development; typical Monday–Friday

Qualifications

• AA in Early Childhood Education or AA/BA with 18 ECE credits.
• One year experience teaching young children.
• Knowledge of MA Curriculum Frameworks.
• Ability to use data to develop and implement individualized plans.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Commitment to agency's mission of supporting low-income families and at-risk children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities and teaching strategies.
• Develop weekly plans for assigned small group.
• Complete all required parent reports for children in assigned small group.
• Help to organize and maintain classroom order, equipment, and materials.
• Participate in child assessment and utilize information to develop individual plans for children in assigned small group.
• Help complete goals of annual classroom Action Plan.
• Actively participate in Team, curriculum and other classroom meetings.
• Support the implementation of licensing and accreditation requirements.
• Follow all agency policies and procedures and document as required.
• Daily communication with Lead Teacher regarding activities, incidents and concerns.
• Complete annual professional development plan.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings.
• All other duties assigned by Lead Teacher or Center Director.
