Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks an Assistant Director, Recognition, Donor Relations to advance the division's annual fundraising goals through donor recognition programs, gifts, displays, and patient partner initiatives.

This role supervises two officers, manages two Officers, and partners with the Associate Director to drive strategic planning, budgeting, and collaboration across the Institute's divisions to optimize donor engagement and recognition outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years of professional experience
• Philanthropy experience preferred
• Direct report and personnel management experience preferred
• Donor, volunteer and stewardship experience preferred
• Strong project management and budgeting skills; ability to multi-task
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with senior Dana-Farber constituencies
• Attention to detail and process improvement focus
• Customer service mindset and positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage donor recognition initiatives and projects such as named space, donor signage, and recognition guidelines
• Lead annual list review for recognition of fiscal year and cumulative giving; coordinate content, timelines, and training
• Manage Campus tour process including guide training and user-friendly tools
• Develop and maintain donor recognition systems, gift tracking, reporting and impact assessment
• Direct major donor giving societies and donor recognition displays
• Coordinate custom gifts and patient partner program activities with prospect managers
• Time tracking and portfolio system oversight; supervise two officers and contribute to budgeting
• Support department-wide efforts to meet annual financial goals
