Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York is seeking an Assistant Director of Community Programming to lead the Spellman Center’s day-to-day operations and community initiatives on the Lower East Side. The role builds partnerships with residents, nonprofits, government agencies, and funders, ensuring programs reflect community needs while maintaining a welcoming, safe, and vibrant neighborhood hub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in human services or nonprofit management.
• Experience in community organizing, engagement, or coalition building required.
• Experience managing community facilities or multi-use centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Spellman Center operations, client flow, scheduling, and security with Facilities.
• Develop, implement, evaluate community programs and events addressing neighborhood needs.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify service gaps and inform program development.
• Engage residents and partners through surveys, focus groups, and convenings.
• Develop and implement plans to integrate new programming with existing services.
• Build partnerships with organizations, government agencies, funders to expand services.
• Collaborate with Program Directors for coordinated center operations and policies.
• Manage a calendar of programs, events, meetings, and activities.
• Promote programs with Marketing/Communications; represent at community forums.
• Assist with budget management, reporting, and facility usage; supervise staff.
