Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York is seeking an Assistant Director of Community Programming for the Spellman Center on the Lower East Side. This role leads day-to-day operations, builds partnerships with residents, community organizations, and funders, and works with Government Relations to identify needs and expand access to services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in human services, nonprofit management, or community-based programming.
• Experience in community organizing, engagement, or coalition building.
• Experience managing community facilities or multi-use community centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Spellman Center, including site operations, client flow, scheduling, and building security.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate community programs, events, and initiatives addressing neighborhood needs.
• Conduct ongoing community needs assessments to identify service gaps and inform program development.
• Engage residents and stakeholders through surveys, focus groups, and convenings to reflect community voice.
• Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, funders, and elected officials.
