Job summary

Amazing Kingdom Christian Academy II in Decatur, GA is seeking an Assistant Director to help run a busy childcare center. The role supports the Center Director, oversees daily operations, and ensures a safe, nurturing environment for children.

You will lead staff, coordinate schedules, maintain records, and assist with enrollment and family inquiries while upholding licensing and safety standards. This is a full-time on-site position in a faith-based program.

Qualifications

• CDA, TCC, Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous childcare or early childhood education experience preferred.
• Leadership or childcare administration experience is a plus.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willing to obtain.
• Background checks completed successfully.
• Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Center Director with daily operations and administrative duties.
• Provide leadership and support to teachers and childcare staff.
• Coordinate staff schedules and classroom coverage to maintain teacher-to-child ratios.
• Ensure compliance with Georgia childcare licensing, health and safety standards.
• Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and development of staff.
• Monitor classrooms and support teachers with routines and behavior management.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, teachers, and staff.
• Maintain attendance, licensing, and operational records accurately.
• Support enrollment, tours, inquiries, and other admin needs.
• Step into classrooms to provide coverage when necessary.
• Oversee operations in the Director's absence.
