Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to lead the Cardinal Enterprise Applications Financials team in the Virginia Department of Accounts. The role directs planning, design, deployment, and ongoing operations of the statewide Cardinal ERP Financial system, ensuring reliable financial processing and governance.

The position requires supervising technical staff, coordinating with agencies and executives, and managing complex ERP initiatives in a hybrid work

Qualifications

Experience with enterprise ERP systems and production support operations.
Knowledge of financial, accounting, procurement, and admin business processes.
Familiarity with SDLC, governance, security, and change control in enterprise settings.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead complex operational projects.
Experience coordinating with executives, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Direct planning, design, and management of the statewide Cardinal ERP Financial system.
Oversee production support, batch processing, and service delivery for stability and timely processing.
Lead major ERP initiatives: enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and new implementations.
Supervise staff and coordinate with agencies, MSPs, leadership, and Cardinal teams.
