Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking an Assistant Director of Biomedical Engineering to lead and shape the hospital's Biomedical Engineering Department. This role supports the safe, reliable operation of medical equipment and drives regulatory compliance, equipment reliability, and staff development.

Collaborating with clinical, operational, and executive leadership, the incumbent will champion continuous process improvement and cost-effective technology strategies across the organization.

Qualifications

• Eight years’ experience with maintenance and repair of high-technology imaging systems.
• Factory training with major radiology and radiation therapy manufacturers.
• CRES and CBET certification required.
• Advanced networking configuration and troubleshooting skills and PACS/RIS knowledge.
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Unix systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leadership, management, and strategic direction of the hospital's Biomedical Engineering Department.
• Support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of medical equipment and technology systems across the organization.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and executive leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, equipment reliability, staff development, and continuous process improvement.
