Job summary

The University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking an Assistant Director for the Center for Archaeological Research to oversee contract archaeology and curation, and to serve as Principal Investigator on Center projects.

The role supports the Director, administers project management and budgets, reviews timesheets, and handles invoicing and reporting; on-campus and field work are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Ability to meet UTSA security/infrastructure requirements per EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with project management and budgets.
• Prepare research designs, scopes of work, and budgets for project proposals.
• Review Center timesheets and redistribute charged time to CAR projects.
• Track account activities and prepare invoices for CAR clients.
• Review reports and ensure quality, research integrity, and compliance.
• Serve as Principal Investigator on archaeological projects and permits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
