Job summary

Middlebury College seeks an Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement to expand connections with alumni through strategic programs, events, and volunteer initiatives. You will lead and coordinate across the alumni portfolio, partnering with campus stakeholders to deliver high-quality on-campus, regional, and virtual programs that foster meaningful involvement.

The role is full-time and benefits-eligible, offering a salary range of $58,395 - $68,709 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3 years related experience required; fundraising environment preferred.
• Well organized and able to manage multiple events concurrently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, listening, diplomacy and tact to build donor relationships.
• Knowledge of desktop applications and relational databases; Microsoft Office familiarity; willingness to learn new tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute alumni programs and events including regional, virtual, and on-campus gatherings.
• Co-manage reunion classes and collaborate with volunteers to shape programming.
• Oversee event logistics (venue, catering, transportation, A/V, signage, materials).
• Develop invitations and follow-up communications; track attendance and engagement in databases.
• Analyze event outcomes and recommend improvements for future programs.
• Build relationships with alumni leaders and volunteers, representing Middlebury to a broad community.
• Collaborate with campus partners to create engagement opportunities across groups.
