Job summary

The College of New Jersey is seeking a Project Specialist to support the SISTEM NSF project, a six-year initiative to enhance STEM teaching and leadership in K-5. The role is half-time (17.5 hours/week) with on-site work at TCNJ and off-site collaboration with local partner schools.

Responsibilities include scheduling, file organization, budgeting and financial reporting, data collection and analysis, and supervising a Graduate Assistant.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience budgeting, financial management and reporting.
  • Experience managing grant-funded program and finances.
  • Familiarity with K-12 settings and terminology.
  • Experience with K-12 school partnerships.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexible, collaborative approach to in-person and remote work.

Position Overview

This project, Sustainable and Innovative STEM for K-5 Teaching (SISTEM) is a 6-year National Science Foundation-funded project focused on supporting K-5 teachers in developing excellence in STEM teaching and teacher‑leadership skills.

Responsibilities

This is a half-time (17.5 hours/week) position. The successful candidate will be available to work on site at TCNJ and offsite at local partner schools. The successful candidate will have:

  • Managing scheduling and communication for project meetings and activities;
  • Organizing project files;
  • Managing budgeting and financial reporting;
  • Assisting with data collection and analysis on research components of the project; and
  • Assisting in the supervision of a Graduate Assistant
Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • Prior experience in and a strong working knowledge budgeting and financial management and reporting;
  • Prior experience in program and financial management for grant‑funded initiatives
  • Familiarity with K-12 school settings and terminology;
  • Experience working in or in partnership with K-12 schools
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; and
  • A flexible and collaborative approach to work that includes in-person and remote projects;
