Job summary

The Learning Experience in Enfield, CT is seeking an Assistant Director to oversee daily operations, support a safe, nurturing environment for children, families, and staff.

This role emphasizes leadership, staff development, licensing compliance, curriculum implementation, and community outreach to grow enrollment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting.
• Early childhood education experience required.
• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state licensing regulations and best practices in early childhood education.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Center Director in overseeing daily center operations and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children, families, and staff.
• Lead by example to foster a positive culture built on teamwork and professionalism.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and retaining high-quality teaching staff.
• Help ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
• Partner with teachers to implement curriculum and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Build relationships with families through effective communication, tours, and enrollment support.
• Support administrative responsibilities including scheduling, attendance tracking, enrollment management, and general office operations.
• Assist with community outreach and marketing initiatives to increase enrollment and strengthen partnerships.

• Have at least 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting.
• Have early childhood education experience (required).
• Hold an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of state licensing regulations and best practices in early childhood education.
• Possess excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Are passionate about supporting children, families, and educators in a high-quality learning environment.
