Job summary

Grand Living is seeking an Assistant Dining Supervisor to elevate the Resident dining experience by overseeing dining staff and delivering culinary activities across all venues, including special events. Under the Dining Manager, you will uphold high service standards and ensure timely, courteous operations.

The role requires 3+ years in food and beverage within upscale settings, a HS diploma or GED, and strong English literacy to train staff and communicate with Residents and guests.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of Food & Beverage experience in country club, fine dining, restaurant or upscale senior living hospitality.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to direct, hire, train staff, and read recipes.

About the Position

The Assistant Dining Supervisor is responsible to enhance the overall Resident dining experience through the provision of exceptional oversight and culinary training to dining staff employees and to uphold service standards of all menu offerings. The Assistant Dining Supervisor assist in the delivery of culinary activities for all dining venues: Bistro, Casual, Formal, Luminations® memory care and Club Room, as well as special events and private functions. This is to be handled in The Sterling Touch® professional, friendly, courteous, helpful and timely manner, resulting in a very high level of satisfaction for Residents and their guests. The Assistant Dining Supervisor is under the general guidance of the Dining Manager in accordance with Community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophies.

Qualifications and Requirements

The Assistant Dining Supervisor requires three or more years with Food and Beverage in country club, fine dining, restaurant and/or upscale Senior living hospitality experience.

High School Diploma or GED, required.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Culinary or Apprenticeship program, preferred.

The Assistant Dining Supervisor must have the ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to direct, manage, hire and train kitchen staff, complete requisitions, read recipes and communicate with other employees as well as Residents and their guests.

Sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms in order to use all kitchen equipment and utensils (e.g. knives, spoons spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.)

Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift or carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
