Job summary

Grace Skilled Nursing & Therapy seeks an Assistant Dietary Manager to lead culinary services, plan and direct the dietary department alongside the Dietary Manager. The role focuses on quality food service, safety, and resident nutrition.

Qualifications include ANFP preferred or ServSafe within 3 months, with ANFP within 1 year if not certified. SNF experience is strongly preferred, with several employee benefits offered.

Qualifications

• DTR qualification also qualifies for Diet Technician placement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food purchase, production and timely service of meals.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen environment and ensure food safety standards.
• Follow standardized recipes and adjust portions for the facility size.
• Check trays for accuracy, garnishes and appearance before delivery.
• Observe residents' food intake and report to Dietary Consultant/Director of Nursing.
• Visit residents for initial nutrition screening and record preferences.

Job description

We are seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager to lead our culinary services to provide excellent quality of food to our residents. The Assistant Dietary Manager will assist the Dietary Manager with planning, organizing, developing and directing the operation of the Dietary Department.

Responsibilities and Purpose

• Responsible for food purchase, production and timely service of meals.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen environment at all times and ensure food safety standards are met.
• Maintain the standardized recipes in which the recipes are adjusted to the size of the facility.
• Check trays for accuracy, garnishments and overall appearance before they are delivered.
• Observe the food intake of residents. Communicate information to the Dietary Consultant and/or Director of Nursing.
• Visit residents to do initial nutrition screening explain diet, record food preferences and promote a quality food service.
• Complete appropriate clinical record documentation (progress notes, etc.).Assesses and documents the nutritional needs of each patient in accordance with the patient comprehensive assessment and care plan.

Desired Experience and Education

• Certification by the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) preferred.
• If not certified, the employee must obtain a ServSafe certification within 3 months of hire and certification by the ANFP within 1 year of employment, paid for by the facility via contract with employee.
• A Diet Technician, Registered (DTR) will also qualify for placement as a Dietary Manager with the job title of Diet Technician.
• One (1) or more years experience in a skilled nursing environment strongly preferred.
