Job summary

Grace Skilled Nursing & Therapy is seeking an entry-level Cook/Dietary Aide to join our team. You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, and support the cooking team with safe food handling in a resident-centered setting.

We offer training, flexible opportunities, and benefits for full-time staff. This role is on-site, with opportunities to grow within our long-term care facility.

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain Food Handler's Card (we can help with this).
• Training is provided.
• Experience in a long-term care environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up the dining room and serve residents
• Assist the cook team in the preparation and service of meals and beverages using specific procedures
• Maintain strict sanitation and quality standards
• Store food safely and hygienically while working to prevent food spoilage
• Accurately record meals served and monitor food temperatures
• Clean assigned dining and food preparation areas using mandated procedures and following set schedules
• Wash dishes and utensils according to the required standards of practice
• Other responsibilities as assigned

We know that mealtime for residents is an important, exciting part of their day. A Cook/Dietary Aide's primary responsibility is to be responsible, reliable, attentive, and positive towards our residents as an aide, as well as cook, prepare, and serve meals for our residents.

Responsibilities and Purpose
