Job summary

Urban Outfitters is seeking an Assistant Designer to support the Women's Tops & Dresses Team. You will assist with trend research, sketching, CAD development, sample execution, and assortment maintenance to bring seasonal creative vision to life.

Ideal candidates have a fashion design background, strong Procreate and Adobe Creative Suite skills (XD, Photoshop), and a solid understanding of garment construction and market trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field; internship or entry-level design experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Procreate and Adobe Creative Suite, especially XD and Photoshop; ability to create accurate fashion sketches and CADs.
• AI rendering experience is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabric, draping, sewing, and mock-up techniques.
• Strong trend awareness and understanding of the Urban Outfitters customer and market.
• Excellent organization, communication, and time-management; able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of seasonal product through trend research, sketching, CAD creation, garment mocking, and sample review.
• Prepare and organize creative materials for key milestones (Sketch Review, Finalization, Print + Color presentations).
• Maintain assortment tools, line sheets, CADs, BOMs, and product information in Adobe XD, Tradestone, and related systems.
• Collaborate with design leads, senior/associate designers, cross-functional teams, and vendors to communicate design intent and support fit, fabric, construction, and details.
• Track and organize department samples while managing assignments and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
