Job summary

Urban Outfitters seeks an Assistant Designer to join the Out From Under (OFU) team, focusing on lounge, athleisure, and intimates with a distinctive collection voice. The role balances comfort, innovation, and a strong point of view while reflecting the evolving Urban Outfitters customer.

The Assistant Designer supports the design team with trend research, sketching, CAD development, sample execution, and assortment maintenance, thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design or related area preferred.
• 1-2 Years Design Experience at a similar brand or organization preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to prompt AI to render imagery for creative and presentation purposes (MidJourney, PromeAi, and ChatGPT).
• Tradestone and BOM maintenance experience preferred.
• Highly organized with flexibility in a fast paced environment and adaptability to frequent changes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing presentation materials for seasonal benchmark meetings such as Sketch Review, Finalization, and Print & Color day.
• Excellent ability to sketch design ideas accurately and emotionally while maintaining a good sense of proportion and can accurately illustrate details to communicate design vision to manager.
• Possesses mocking, draping, sewing, and other technical skills related to garment making.
• Tracks, manages and organizes department samples.
• Maintain organized and up to date line sheet and assortment tools at all time
