Job summary

Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences seeks an Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education, Academic Program Planning, to coordinate academic affairs operations, support faculty, and manage curriculum initiatives.

The role partners with the College and FAS to drive first-year gateway courses, supports cross-departmental planning, and oversees the Rising Scholars program and course funding oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience.
• Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Assistant Dean will oversee academic affairs operations, faculty support, curriculum management and training.
• Serve as liaison across FAS and College for cross-departmental curricular planning and course review.
• Oversee the Rising Scholars Program and placement exams; manage course innovation funds and assess funding impact.
