Job summary

Harvard College, part of Harvard University, seeks a Senior Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Education to provide strategic direction for the undergraduate curriculum and to lead academic governance across flagship programs. The role collaborates with faculty to ensure effective pedagogy and curricular support while guiding policy and program oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience.
• Supervisory experience.
• Ability to work and negotiate directly with faculty is essential.
• Superb communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to research and synthesize complex issues and data; and the ability to work with a number of different constituencies.
• Strong skills in teaching and knowledge of new pedagogies are essential.
• Knowledge of the Harvard College curriculum strongly preferred.
• Previous budget experience a plus.
• Ph.D. preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the Harvard College undergraduate curriculum.
• Lead and govern academic policy and curricular support for faculty and programs.
• Oversee Independent Study, Lemann Program, Mindich Program, and Special Concentrations; advise undergraduates and manage program administration.
• Collaborate with faculty and curriculum teams to ensure alignment with College goals.
