Job summary

Howard University College of Pharmacy is seeking an Assistant Dean of Experiential Learning to lead the development, delivery, assessment and continual improvement of all experiential education programs, ensuring ACPE Standards for IPPE and APPE are met.

The role collaborates with the Director of International Programs to coordinate global rotations for students and visiting scholars, supervising staff and managing preceptors to maintain high-quality experiential sites.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree from ACPE-accredited program is required.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in pharmacy practice or experiential education leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise with IPPE/APPE administration and accreditation expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all experiential education programs (IPPE and APPE).
• Ensure full compliance with ACPE standards for experiential learning.
• Develop and maintain high-quality experiential training sites across diverse settings.
• Oversee experiential placement and support for campus-based and online PharmD students.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and evaluation of preceptors.
• Establish preceptor development programs and recognition initiatives.
• Implement quality assurance for site monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate experiential learning across the curriculum.
