Trident Technical College seeks an Assistant Dean of Engineering and Construction who will oversee academic programs and teach courses in engineering technology. The Assistant Dean of Engineering and Construction reports to the division dean and is simultaneously assigned to teach courses in his/her field of expertise. The administrative function of this position includes maintaining the academic integrity of the programs offered by the division, developing and managing continuing education courses, and overseeing advising processes. Additional responsibilities include assisting the dean with program and course development, faculty contracts, personnel, budget, and equipment.
This position requires a master's degree in engineering or engineering technology or a closely related field, and a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible related work/teaching experience. Must be qualified to teach curriculum courses in one of the following programs: civil, electronics, mechanical engineering technology, or mechatronics.
An ideal candidate will have previous experience managing department budgets, maintaining program academic integrity, representing the division on teams or committees, and assisting with accreditation. Knowledge of routine operational procedures, including conducting and submitting student degree audits, managing credit and non-credit programs, and evaluating military transcripts, is a must. An ideal candidate will have working experience with academic complaints, faculty schedules, and appeals for late course withdrawal, scheduling registration and drop/add duty each term, and assisting with reporting CAPs.
