Job summary

The University of Georgia in Athens seeks an Assistant Dean for Education to lead the Ivester School of Nursing's educational programs and clinical track faculty, reporting to the Dean. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for degree program development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement to prepare a highly skilled nursing workforce for Georgia and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Earned doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, or equivalent) in nursing or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum and Academic Program Leadership: Provides leadership for design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of all degree programs; aligns curricula with CCNE/GBN requirements and NCLEX readiness.
  • Accreditation, Regulatory Compliance, and External Representation: Leads CCNE accreditation efforts and maintains compliance with state board requirements; represents the school at state and national meetings.
  • Clinical Track Faculty and Instructors Leadership: Oversees recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation of clinical track faculty and instructors.
  • Student Experience and Program Quality: Champions a practice-ready orientation; monitors outcomes and leads continuous quality improvements.
  • Strategic Partnership and School Leadership: Partners with the Dean to advance the school's educational mission and strategic priorities.
