Job summary

Wright State University is seeking an Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development to lead faculty initiatives within the Boonshoft School of Medicine. The role reports to the Senior Associate Dean and collaborates with department chairs and Faculty Affairs staff to foster faculty advancement, wellbeing, mentoring, and retention.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in a field relevant to the School of Medicine.
• Minimum of three years in academic leadership, faculty development, or related area.
• Understanding of faculty appointment, evaluation, promotion, and professional advancement.
• Ability to provide consultation on complex or sensitive faculty matters.
• Experience working with faculty, chairs, and academic staff.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for faculty affairs programs and initiatives across BSOM.
• Collaborate with the Senior Associate Dean to implement priorities and initiatives.
• Advise on promotion paths, policies, and procedures for faculty.
• Lead faculty development, mentoring, and engagement initiatives.
• Support faculty recognition, engagement, and retention activities.
• Ensure compliance with ACCME, LCME, and related accreditation activities.
• Supervise CME activities and the CME Coordinator.
• Assess and update faculty policies and resources; support governance.
