Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) seeks an Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs and Department Chair in the School of Nursing. This is a 12‑month fiscal appointment with potential teaching responsibilities as determined by the Dean.

The role provides strategic and operational oversight of master's, doctoral, and post‑graduate certificate programs, guiding academic leadership and program quality across graduate nursing education.

Qualifications

• Earned PhD, DNP, or equivalent doctoral degree.
• Eligible for faculty appointment at the tenured rank of Associate Professor or higher.
• Demonstrated excellence in graduate nursing education.
• Experience in academic leadership and administration.
• Established record of scholarship and service.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight for all graduate nursing programs (master's, doctoral, and post-graduate certificate).
• Meet with graduate program coordinators/directors twice per semester to address needs and priorities.
• Oversee curriculum implementation, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement across graduate programs (DNP projects, etc.).
• Monitor program outcomes, including certification pass rates and completion metrics.
• Prepare annual graduate program performance reports for master’s and doctoral levels.
• Annually update the graduate student handbook and university catalog content and policies.

Education
