Job summary

Derby Public Schools is seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming schools in Derby, Kansas. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Maintenance and Custodial Supervisor and requires the ability to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced educational environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms and restrooms, performing routine building maintenance, monitoring temperatures for comfort and efficiency, and following district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Kansas driver's license preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Keep buildings clean and premises neat.
• Monitor building temperature for comfort and energy efficiency.
• Clear snow from walkways as needed.
• Clean classrooms, dust, sweep, mop and vacuum corridors.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and drinking fountains.
• Assist the head custodian as directed.
• Comply with district policies and regulations.
• Move furniture or equipment as directed by the custodian supervisor.
• Perform yard-keeping duties and maintain grounds.
• Ensure building security after hours.
