We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Credit Manager to join our fast-paced team. This role is integral to our financial stability and involves managing all aspects of credit, collections, and accounts receivable functions of the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial statements, expenses, income statements, and entries. This role requires a strategic thinker with a knack for problem-solving and a passion for optimizing company revenue.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers.
- Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the credit and collections program and its related activities.
- Monitor and manage the accounts receivable portfolio by tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and ensure compliance with best practices in credit and collections processes.
- Prepare and present reports detailing the credit and collections activities and performance to senior management.
- Work closely with the sales team to resolve customer disputes and manage credit exposure.
- Conduct financial analysis, including the ability to review an income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
- Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile transaction disputes and prepare entries.
- Lead and mentor a team of credit and collections specialists, fostering a well-trained and motivated staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a credit and collections role
- Proven experience in managing a team and driving performance.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, including expenses, income statements, and entries.
- Proficient in the use of financial software and systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
