This position assists in coordinating the court’s administrative operations.
Example of Duties
- Processes civil and criminal cases as assigned.
- Receives complaints and prepares arrest warrants and emergency protective orders.
- Provides the public with general information about court services.
- Answers telephone calls, greets visitors, and provides information and assistance.
- Assists with the collection of fines.
- Prepares daily deposits and cash reports.
- Maintains department inventory and makes purchases as needed.
- Enters traffic tickets, assesses fees, and maintains related files.
- Assists the judge with court proceedings.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.

- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Must have at least one ( 1 ) year of experience.
Complexity/Scope of Work
The work consists of interpretation and administrative duties. Frequent interruptions add to the position's complexity.
The purpose of this position is to provide interpretation and translation services in support of court operations. Successful performance contributes to efficient and effective court operations.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Occasionally
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 10 pounds in all directions.
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Driving a County vehicle or a personal vehicle for County business.
- Working in noisy environments.
- Working in small and/or enclosed spaces.
- Light work that includes carrying objects up to 20 pounds.

- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Other Requirements/Information
- Must possess a valid and current Texas Driver's License.
- The Webb County Drug and Alcohol Policy applies to this position. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and a criminal background check are required.
- This position is not covered under Civil Service; however, all other Webb County policies apply.
