Job summary

Progress Industries in Iowa is seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Coordinator to lead and coordinate HCBS residential services, ensuring quality, compliance, and person-centered supports. You will work closely with the HCBS Coordinator, Assistant Managers, and frontline staff to maintain accurate records and maintain service delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and organizational skills, the ability to recruit and train staff, monitor documentation, assist with ISP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences with at least one year of post-degree experience in human services administration; or
  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least five years of qualifying experience in the described areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the HCBS Coordinator with day-to-day oversight of HCBS residential services.
  • Provide coaching and support to HCBS staff and managers.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of HCBS staff.
  • Review documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Monitor service logs, attendance, billing, and GERs.
  • Support ISP meetings and coordination of services for individuals.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Progress Industries is seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Coordinator to provide leadership, coordination, and operational support within our HCBS residential services.

This position works closely with the HCBS Coordinator, Assistant Managers, Service Monitoring Specialists, DSPs, and other team members to ensure quality services, regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, appropriate staffing, and person-centered supports.

Reports To: HCBS Coordinator

What You'll Do
  • Assist the HCBS Coordinator with day-to-day oversight of HCBS residential services.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to HCBS Assistant Managers, Service Monitoring Specialists, DSPs, and other assigned staff.
  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, orientation, onboarding, and training of HCBS staff.
  • Review required documentation to ensure records are accurate, complete, and submitted timely.
  • Monitor service logs, person served attendance/billing, GERs, appointments, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with ISP meetings and coordination of services for assigned individuals.
  • Review and monitor completion of required CAP trainings and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing concerns, billing, documentation expectations, and monthly service requirements.
  • Complete routine quality assurance reviews of assigned homes and sites and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Review GERs and other documentation to ensure needed corrections and follow-up are completed timely.
  • Conduct and monitor monthly money-box reviews for assigned 24-hour SCL homes.
  • Assist with the development and updating of person served fact sheets, emergency contact information, and other required records.
  • Participate in administrative on-call rotation as assigned.
  • Participate in Positive Behavior Support Coalition meetings and other assigned meetings or training.
  • Assist with investigations involving incidents, employee relations concerns, and person served issues in partnership with HR and leadership when appropriate.
  • Promote professional communication, de-escalation practices, accountability, and positive working relationships.
  • Support compliance with licensing requirements, accreditation standards, Medicaid regulations, agency policies, and person-centered practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and person served information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social or behavioral sciences and at least one year of post-degree experience in the delivery, planning, coordination, or administration of human services; or
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of qualifying experience in the areas described above.

  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

  • Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to complete all mandatory training required for the position.
  • Valid Iowa driver's license, satisfactory driving record, reliable transportation, and required automobile liability insurance.
  • Ability to participate in administrative on-call responsibilities and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Ability to travel between assigned program locations.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including bending, reaching, walking, and using stairs as needed.
