Job summary

Newport Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Christiana, PA is seeking an Assistant Cook to provide nutritious, quality meals to residents we care for.

The role offers 1st & 2nd Shifts available as Part Time/Full Time, with every other weekend required and prior line-cook experience preferred. Training for healthcare settings is available, and a focus on good service and timely meal preparation is essential.

Qualifications

• Prior line-cook experience required.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred; training available.
• Excellent customer service and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Strong time management and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Prepare meals following planned menus and only authorized substitutes.
• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets per planned menu.
• Serve food with established portion control procedures.
• Inspect diet trays to ensure correct diet is served.
• Assist in establishing service production lines to ensure meals are prepared on time.
• Assumes responsibility for tray line and serves on tray line as necessary.
