Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada, Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant under the AoA Title VI Program to prepare and serve meals, maintain a sanitary kitchen, and assist with purchasing and inventory.

The role includes delivering meals to homebound elders, ensuring meals meet USDA guidelines, and completing required reports and documentation for programs. A high school diploma is expected, and a Nevada driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or Higher Education Certificate.
• Possess or be able to obtain Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Plan monthly menus and prep meals according to AoA/USDA requirements with minimal waste.
• Operate standard cooking equipment and maintain appliances in clean, safe condition.
• Assist with purchasing, credit card purchases, and receipts per ITCN policies.
• Purchase and inventory food within budget and meal requirements.
• Receive and store food and supplies with purchase date.
• Serve elders per dietary guidelines in a pleasant environment.
• Ensure kitchen/dining areas are cleaned after each meal and follow safety standards.
• Deliver meals to certified homebound elders when necessary.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports on menus, meals served, funds collected, and services performed.
• Distribute and collect eligibility paperwork for meals and annual needs assessments.
• Work independently and handle minor problems; respond professionally to inquiries or complaints.
• Attend training and perform related work to meet Title VI standards.
