Job summary

The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Health Department is seeking a Title VI Food Service Worker to prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals for older adults in Title VI elder programs, while ensuring food safety and customer service. • Proficiency in meal preparation and following recipes and portion controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to menus and guidelines.
• Follow recipes and portion control standards for consistency and quality.
• Serve meals to participants in a respectful manner.
• Present meals attractively while adhering to health standards.
• Address dietary needs as directed by Nutritionist/Dietitian.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and regular equipment cleaning.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures per guidelines.
• Assist with inventory and report shortages to Head Cook.
• Help with menu planning to meet dietary needs of elderly participants.
• Provide excellent service and address concerns professionally.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and program coordinators for smooth operations.
• Complete daily logs related to preparation, service, and inventory.
• Ensure proper storage to maintain freshness and safety.
• Assist in daily cleaning of kitchen and dining areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
