Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare food using authentic Indian raw materials, herbs, and spices, and cook Indian cuisine dishes, including tandoor dishes, in their traditional way.
- Ensure all Indian food is freshly prepared and meets food standards.
- Follow correct stock rotation procedures in the kitchen.
- Have experience in Indian, Chinese, and South Indian vegetarian cuisines.
- Collaborate with the Head Cook to introduce new dishes and menus.
- Monitor and control stock levels and inventory within your jurisdiction.
- Ensure proper stock rotation and storage procedures are followed.
- Monitor portion sizes and waste control.
- Cook for catering functions when required.
- Work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.
- Reprepare items if food runs out at outlets during busy days.
- Maintain consistency and perfect the unique curry taste for customers before dispatch.
- Train new cooks and assistant cooks as needed.
- Participate in weekly meetings with cooks to discuss menus and production needs.
- Ensure daily cleaning of the kitchen and thorough cleaning weekly with the team.
- Work shifts: arrive at 8am, leave at 11am, return at 5pm, and leave at 10pm to cover breakfast, lunch, and dinner production needs.
- Prepare for catering events and conduct menu sampling for guests.
- Be creative in daily cooking and introduce new dishes and menus when necessary.
Requirements:
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring an experienced chef in a similar industry.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must work on weekends and public holidays, with weekdays off.
- Languages: Tamil & Hindi.
