Job summary

AllThrive 365 is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support cooks for congregate and home-delivered meals at Peoria and related centers. You will help with meal prep, serving, storage, and driving duties as needed.

Responsibilities include assisting with ordering and inventory, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining sanitary conditions. Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1+ year large-group cooking experience, and required certifications. This role may be full- or part-time.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write and follow written instructions.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of position entry.
• Clear fingerprint background screening through the Department of Public Safety and comprehensive background clearance to include a physical, drug screen and other.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Assists the cook with ordering food and supplies
• Assists with inventory count
• Ensures proper storage of food and tools to maintain quality, sanitation and accessibility for use
• Operates, maintains and cleans kitchen appliances, tools, and refrigeration equipment
• Assists with cleaning and sanitizing equipment and tools used in the kitchen
• Assists with kitchen clean-up to maintain sanitary conditions
• Assists with special programs conducted by staff or volunteer organizations
• Assist with delivery, including driving, of home-delivered meals
• Full Time position works a minimum of 31 hours per week
• Part Time position works a maximum of 30 hours per week
• This position is classified as Safety Sensitive
• Expected to cover Cook and HDM drivers when necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Provides direct assistance to the kitchen and nutrition staff for congregate and home-delivered meal services for Peoria Senior Center and/or Wickenburg Senior Center.

Essential Functions:

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year+ experience in handling, preparing, and cooking food items for large groups (100-150 people)
• Able to read, write and follow written instructions
• Possess a valid unrestricted driver license and be insurable by AllThrive 365, valid MVR
• Possess CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of position entry
• Possess Valid Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain within 60 days of position entry
• Clear fingerprint background screening through the Department of Public Safety and comprehensive background clearance to include a physical, drug screen and other
• Must be at least 18 years of age
