We are seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to support the daily operations of our soup kitchen program. The responsibilities include supervising food preparation and cooking, maintaining inventory, and ensuring safety and cleanliness standards in accordance with Salvation Army policies. The role also involves managing kitchen staff volunteers and ensuring quality food service to clients.

Responsibilities

1. Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and report to the open kitchen.
2. Prepare a variety of foods including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, using various kitchen equipment.
3. Ensure the quality of all food products.
4. Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen rules consistently.
5. Adhere to all Salvation Army policies and procedures.
6. Maintain accurate inventory levels in the food pantry to prevent reordering and ensure product freshness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in food preparation, line cooking, or fry cooking.
