Assistant Controller -Tech (SaaS)- Hybrid

A rapidly growing technology company is looking for an Assistant Controller to join its expanding team. The company offers a modern, user-focused solution that enhances how people manage, access and secure their homes and/or offices.

Following a recent round of funding, the organization is entering a high-growth phase and is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead the close process, improve operational workflows, and support financial reporting during this period of expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller to develop, implement, and monitor internal controls and accounting policies to support operational efficiency, risk management, and compliance
  • Direct and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely completion, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and maintaining high standards for the accuracy and completeness of financial records and supporting documentation
  • Uphold the integrity of the Company’s financial records in strict accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Perform comprehensive monthly and quarterly balance sheet and income statement analyses, presenting key findings and trends for review by the Financial Controller
  • Review the monthly financial reporting package in detail and prepare thorough variance analyses to explain material deviations from budget, forecasts, and prior period results
  • Assist in preparing for the annual financial statement audit, ensuring readiness, timely delivery of audit requests, and adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the Company’s revenue recognition process, ensuring alignment with ASC 606 standards and accuracy in the recording of revenue transactions
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team, providing professional development opportunities, conducting performance evaluations, and setting clear objectives aligned with departmental and organizational goals
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects within tight deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience
  • MBA or Masters of Accounting a plus
  • Big 4 or public accounting experience a plus
  • Must have at least one year of managerial experience
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and procedures
  • Ability to problem-solve, have a positive attitude, be a team player
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, and impeccable attention to detail

Salary: $150,000 - $165,000 + bonus
