Exus Renewables North America is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for the company’s US-based activities. The role emphasizes financial planning, reporting, risk management, and regulatory compliance within a growing renewable energy portfolio.

The candidate will oversee close processes, audits, investor reporting, and team leadership while ensuring adherence to US GAAP and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate finance or accounting with progressive responsibilities.
• Prior experience in an Assistant Controller role or similar required.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting, general ledger management, and risk management principles.
• CPA designation or MBA highly preferred (or actively working toward CPA).
• Knowledge of accounting standards in highly regulated industries and/or renewable energy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Finance and Accounting department in overseeing accounting and financial functions for the Exus operating group.
• Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to support growth and objectives.
• Prepare complex financial forecasts, projections, and budgets with visuals for leadership.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks; assist in variance analyses.
• Manage relationships with financial institutions, investors, and lenders.
• Prepare financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow) for internal functions and projects.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including consolidation support.
• Coordinate schedules and documentation for yearly audits with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other relevant regulations across accounting operations.
• Support investor relations with financial reports and presentations.
• Assist in managing the accounting and finance team.
• Stay current on technical accounting practices to ensure correct US GAAP application.
• Implement, monitor, and uphold internal controls, policies, automation, and process improvements.
